abSync : Documentation

 
Introduction
ABSync allows to synchronize your AddressBooks with remote shared files through protocols like HTTP,DAV or IMAP.
Address Book Synchronization in a nutshell ...
To run your first synchronization, follow theses step:
 
Select an Address Book
Create a trial Address Book or use one without importance. It must be filled with at least one or two entries.
You are ready to configure your connection.
Set transfert parameters
Right click on the Address Book you just created to display the contextual menu, then select "Preferences". The Preferences window will appear :)
Enter the parameters like explained here. Don't forget to Apply your changes ...
Close the Preferences window.
Once done your 're ready to synchronize.
Launch Upload synchronization
Right click on the targeted Address Book to display the contextual menu, then select "Synchronize". The Synchronize window will appear :)
For the first time, the synchronization type must be set on "Upload". Click on button Synchronize.
Congratulations! You have done your first Upload Synchronization.
Launch Download synchronization
In order to see that download sync. run as espected, modify the entries of your address book then redo the same thinks as the precedent step except that the synchronization type must be set on "Download".
You must see that your Address Book contain now the saved data...
The Preferences window.

Select ''Connections'' in the left panel.
In 'Protocol' group select "HTTP".
Enter Host, User, Password and Path for your http proxy like {www.myDomain.com, myUserName, myPassword, abSync/abSyncHTTPProxy.php}.

 From this point we assume that you have installed an HTTP proxy like this.
As a test, to be sure that all you need, server side, is running; if you enter the url http://www.myDomain.com/abSync/abSyncHTTPProxy.php?test in your browser, you must see a message indicating that al is right.
 

Shared Address Book Format is set on XML.
